Suvarnabhumi Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is a major hub airport near Bangkok in Thailand. This page covers the essentials — IATA + ICAO codes, location, live flight status, and hotels nearby.
Getting to + from the city
Airport Rail Link (City Line) to Phaya Thai (BTS connection) in 28 min for THB 45 (~$1.30). Taxi to Sukhumvit is THB 350–500 (~$10–15) and 35–70 min depending on Bangkok traffic. Grab is similar. The airport-to-city drive can be 2+ hours in rush — the train is predictable.
Terminals
Single massive terminal (3rd largest in the world). Concourses A–G all connected airside, no shuttle needed. Thai Airways is the home carrier (Star Alliance hub). Don't confuse BKK with DMK (Don Mueang, the older low-cost airport 50 km north) — they're separate.
What's actually good
Thai Royal Silk Lounge is top-tier — real pad thai station, Thai massage area. Miracle Lounge (multiple locations, Priority Pass) is the realistic non-status option. Food: skip the chains, eat at the airside Magic Food Point (food court with actual Thai prices). Massage chairs throughout (THB 40/10 min).
Avoid
Booking BKK↔DMK transfers under 4h (50 km + traffic). Currency exchange at SuperRich-branded airport counters vs. the regular counters (the SuperRich are honest, non-SuperRich are bad). Drinking tap water. Taking a non-metered taxi from arrivals (use the official taxi queue downstairs).
