Getting to + from the city
Airport Express Metro (Orange Line) to New Delhi Station in 22 min (βΉ60). Trains run 4:45 AM β 11:30 PM, ~10 min frequency. Pre-paid taxi from the official kiosk in arrivals β βΉ400β600 to Connaught Place + 45β75 min. Uber/Ola work, but the airport pickup point is a 5-min walk from arrivals. Don't accept rides from anyone outside the official taxi area.

T1: low-cost domestic (IndiGo, SpiceJet). T2: more domestic. T3: all international + Air India + Vistara (now Air India) domestic. T1βT3 free shuttle bus (45 min with traffic β don't try to make a tight T1-T3 transfer). T3 is the largest single-terminal building in India.
What's actually good
ITC Maurya First-Class Lounge (T3) is the country's best β Indian + international stations, spa, Γ la carte dining. The Plaza Premium in T3 takes Priority Pass + serves North Indian thali. Food court has actual chaat from Haldiram's. Free Wi-Fi via SMS to a registered Indian number β use an Airalo India eSIM or you'll struggle.
Avoid
Skipping the AQI check β NovemberβJanuary Delhi air pollution can push you back inside. Booking sub-3h connections through T1βT3 (taxi between is βΉ400 + 30 min in normal traffic). Drinking tap water. Accepting help from anyone with your luggage outside the official porter system (blue uniforms only). Flying out during a winter fog day without padding for delays.
