Getting to + from the city
Doha Metro Red Line to central Doha + the Corniche in 20 min for QAR 2 (~$0.55). Karwa Taxi is QAR 50–80 (~$15–22) to central + 20–25 min. Uber + Careem available. The Metro is among the world's newest + cleanest, opened 2019 for the World Cup.
Terminals
Single massive terminal — Hamad opened 2014, expanded for 2022 World Cup. Qatar Airways uses every concourse (the hub-and-spoke is built around them). 8 concourses (A-E + the new K-N). Walking distances are real (up to 25 min gate-to-gate).
What's actually good
Al Mourjan Business Lounge is one of the world's largest airline lounges + ranks consistently in the Skytrax top 10. Al Safwa First Lounge is the QR First tier — by invitation. Plaza Premium Lounge takes Priority Pass. Food: skip the chains, eat at the Al Mansoor (Lebanese) or The Lebanese Restaurant. Free fast Wi-Fi everywhere.
Avoid
Drinking alcohol publicly (only in airport hotel bar + lounges). Photographing security. Forgetting that Qatari duty-free has the world's cheapest cigarettes — but US/EU customs limits still apply on arrival. Booking sub-90-min connections at peak Qatar Airways banks (the terminal is huge).
