Tokyo Haneda International Airport
Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) is a major hub airport near Tokyo in Japan. This page covers the essentials β IATA + ICAO codes, location, live flight status, and hotels nearby.
Getting to + from the city
Tokyo Monorail to HamamatsuchΕ in 18 min (Β₯520), then JR Yamanote one stop to Shimbashi or further. Keikyu Line to Shinagawa in 12 min (Β₯330). Limousine Bus to major hotels β Β₯1,200, 30β60 min. Taxi to central Tokyo is Β₯7,000β10,000 (~$45β65) and 30β60 min depending on traffic. Haneda is significantly closer to central Tokyo than NRT (13 km vs 60 km).
Terminals
T1 + T2: domestic (T1 = JAL group, T2 = ANA group). T3: international (formerly the international-only terminal). The terminals are connected by free shuttle bus and free monorail. T1βT3 is 8 min by monorail. Many flights depart at unusual hours since Haneda's international slots are scarce + valuable.
What's actually good
Edo Market food court (T3) is destination-quality β sushi, soba, tonkatsu at the actual quality you'd find in Ginza. The ANA Suite Lounge (T2) is internationally ranked β the dining room serves washoku set meals. The rooftop observation deck (T1 + T2) is a quiet escape with great plane-spotting. Wi-Fi works flawlessly.
Avoid
Confusing HND with NRT (different airport, 60 km apart) β double-check your ticket. Booking under-90-min domestic-international connections (terminal change + security re-check). Tipping (it's actually rude in Japan). Trying to bring fresh fruit through customs (confiscated). Smoking outside designated rooms (Β₯30,000 fine).
