Getting to + from the city
Elizabeth Line is the new fast option — Paddington in 30 min for £12.80. Heathrow Express is the premium version: Paddington in 15 min for £25. Avoid
Booking sub-90-min terminal-changing connections (T5↔T3 is 30 min minimum). Buying Oyster card refunds — they're credited to your registered Oyster, not refunded in cash. Using the Heathrow Express if you have time for the Elizabeth Line (half the price, same destination). Trying to fly out on a strike day without checking ahead (UK rail/airport strikes are frequent in winter).
