Getting to + from the city
MRT East-West Line from T2 station to Tanah Merah, then transfer — 35 min total to Raffles Place for S$2.50. Taxi is S$25–40 to the city + a S$3–5 airport surcharge. Grab is similar. Food: skip the Western chains, eat at the local hawker stalls in the T2 + T3 basement (S$6 chicken rice, the real version). Free movie theaters in T2 + T3.
Avoid
Chewing gum (illegal to import). Photographing immigration officers. Smoking outside designated areas (S$200 fine). Booking layovers shorter than 90 min if you want to actually see the Jewel (it's behind security + adds time). Currency exchange at the airport — use a Wise card + ATM. Trying to leave the airport during a transit (you need an actual Singapore stamp, not just a layover).
