The fastest path to a reservation is not Google or Yelp — they show restaurants but not live table availability. You need a reservation platform:

• Resy — covers higher-end and trending spots in Toronto. Often has inventory OpenTable does not.

• TheFork.ca — smaller network but often has deals (discounts on specific time slots).

Pro Move for Hard-to-Book Restaurants

If your top choice shows no availability, call the restaurant directly. Many hold back 10-15% of tables for phone reservations — staff can sometimes squeeze you in at an off-peak time (4:45 PM or 9:30 PM) that does not appear online.

Pro tip: Wednesday and Thursday lunch are the easiest times to get into popular spots. Friday and Saturday dinner are booked 2-3 weeks out. If you are flexible on time, 5:00 PM or 9:00 PM slots have better availability than 7:00 PM.
