North Africa, particularly during the Late Cretaceous period, was a hotbed of dinosaur activity, often referred to as the "Lost World" of Africa due to its unique and often gigantic fauna. While Spinosaurus is arguably the most famous, many other fascinating species roamed this ancient landscape, which was then a lush, river-filled environment.

Prominent North African Dinosaurs:

• Carcharodontosaurus: A massive theropod (carnivorous) dinosaur, rivaling T. rex in size. Its name means "shark-toothed lizard," referring to its large, serrated teeth designed for slicing flesh. It was likely the apex predator alongside Spinosaurus.
